As you will be aware, NFDSA have been working with The Club for several years to feed in the experiences, comments and ideas of fans with disabilities to improve accessibility and match day experience.
This has included both the existing City Ground and also ongoing development of the Peter Taylor Stand, and been through a variety of communications, assessments, meetings with Club Staff, training and the Fans Advisory Board (FAB).
The Club will be holding a public exhibition and drop in sessions at the City Ground on Friday 5 December and Saturday 6 December, as part of consultation ahead of planning applications being submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council.
This is an opportunity for disabled fans and carers to learn more about plans.
NFDSA would welcome your thoughts, so we can collate them and share with the club as the process continues.
Please send to forestdsachairperson@gmail.com
Further details are at Nottingham Forest FC – Public exhibition – Update on City Ground redevelopment
Thank you for your ongoing support for and involvement with NFDSA

City Ground Accessibility – Issues, Meetings and Working with the Club to find Solutions, and Europe
NFDSA requested a meeting to discuss a number of issues which have arisen since the friendlies in August. This took place on 28th October at the City Ground, and was reported on the Club's Official Website, News page.
https://sgsa.org.uk/document/accessible-stadia/
We have requested follow up information, and will communicate progress once received.
Thank you to Ericka Williams, Disability Access Officer, who has provided this summary for our update.
Exciting accessibility improvements have been introduced at the City Ground to enhance the matchday experience for all supporters. A brand-new accessible toilet is now available on the first floor of the Trent End, providing greater convenience and comfort. In addition, home supporters wearing the NFFC sunflower lanyard will be able to access the accessible toilet located in the Wheelchair Lounge in the upper Bridgford Stand. Stoma facilities will also be added to all accessible toilets imminently, further improving comfort and inclusivity for fans with additional needs. The Club’s Accessibility Guide will be updated accordingly to reflect these positive changes, demonstrating Nottingham Forest’s continued commitment to ensuring the stadium is welcoming and accessible for everyone.
Lanyards
These were first available to be worn at the Sunderland match on 27th September. The Club report that the take up has been encouraging.
However, we have been made aware of a number of issues, in these early days of the initiative, and so we sought clarification, following the experiences of NFDSA, and we emailed the Club. The responses to our questions are below.
The purpose of the Forest Accessibility Lanyard:
It is to be used to identify, and support, individuals who may need additional assistance or accommodation with visible and non-visible disabilities.
1. Who can have/wear a Lanyard?
Any supporter, or person(s) who works for Forest, who has a non-visible or visible disability.
2. Who must wear a Lanyard?
It is not obligatory to wear a lanyard; however, these lanyards provide a discreet and respectful way for supporters to indicate that they may require extra support, patience, or simply a bit more time, while navigating the stadium, or interacting with our staff and stewards.
3. Who does wear a Lanyard?
Anyone who requires one that has a visible or non-visible disability. PA’s do not receive a lanyard unless they too have a visible or non-visible disability.
Supporters do not need to wear a lanyard to use the accessible toilets. Access is available to all who require it, regardless of whether they are wearing a lanyard or not.
This clarification was to be reinforced during the Manchester United matchday stewards’ briefing.

05.11.2025 Nottingham Forest today held a very positive and productive meeting with Nottingham Forest Disabled Supporters Association (NFDSA) at the City Ground.
In attendance was Lindsay Knott (Chairperson, NFDSA), Graham Murray (Head of Safety & Security), Will D’Hooghe (Head of Fan Engagement), Billy Thompson (Head of Ticketing), and Alex Tatner (Supporter Liaison Officer).
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for open and constructive dialogue, with Lindsay raising several operational matters brought forward by NFDSA members. Discussions also focused on increasing wheelchair provision at the City Ground and longer-term planning as part of the Club’s stadium redevelopment, ensuring accessibility remains a key consideration in future designs.
Nottingham Forest would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the NFDSA for their ongoing support and advocacy. The Club recognises, and greatly appreciates the dedication shown by committee members who give up their time, from already busy lives, to improve the matchday experience for our disabled supporters.
Both the Club and the NFDSA are delighted to share a positive and collaborative relationship, and we remain fully committed to building on this partnership as we continue to enhance accessibility and inclusivity across the Club.
